Welcome to Wurm Recreation Club

The Wurm Recreation Club (WRC), formerly the Wurm Running Club, is a group of family and friends who joined together over 20 years ago to Run/Drink Beer/Do Good! Over the years we’ve transitioned to more of a Run/Walk/Ride club and increased our support of charities, especially those raising funds for cancer care/research. Join us for family/friend fun and charity!

There is something for everyone at this great family event! 5km run, walk, and kids run! Run/walk with your family and friends then enjoy the fun post race party with food and drink from local vendors.

Proceeds to benefit the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

National Brain Tumor Ride

When: Sunday, May 17, 2026

Course options for the in-person ride are 10, 25 or 50 miles. The ride has both an in-person and virtual option. Fundraising minimum is $500 for in-person and free for virtual riders.

Note: If you're interested in riding but are worried about the fundraising talk to me. We'll work it out.

• Raise $500 by Event Day (May 17) to receive a Gray Nation Endurance cycling jersey

• Teams who raise $2500 or more by April 17, will earn a team sign

Our annual BBQ will be held at a later date. Rider after party on-site.

A Race to Cure ALS

• Proceeds to benefit the The Angel Fund for ALS Research, an independent, non-profit charity, benefiting ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) research at UMass Chan Medical School.
